The hoste arms
The Hoste Arms has been established for over four hundred years. Originally it was a coaching inn serving local ales, a few ports, sherry and Madeira from behind a small hatch.
From humble beginnings The Hoste Arms cellar has grown to now boast one of the best collections in the area of fine wines and champagnes from the great estates of the world. The relaxed conviviality in The Hoste bar with its roaring log fire in the winter is hard to beat.
Admiral Lord Nelson was a regular Saturday morning visitor until his summons to sea, and it is now popular with locals and visitors alike.
Informal yet buzzy, it offers the perfect excuse to read the newspaper, enjoy the local ale, glass of wine or cocktail. There is also a selection of bar nibbles and snacks on offer.
Dogs are always welcome at The Hoste , nowhere more than in the bar.
